How the WorkCover Process Works
Follow these simple steps to access WorkCover Queensland funded acupuncture treatment at HealthPro Wellness.
🏗️ Step 1 – Workplace Injury
If you suffer an injury at work, or develop a work-related condition, report it to your employer as soon as possible.
Examples include lifting injuries, slips and falls, repetitive strain injuries, and other workplace accidents.
👨⚕️ Step 2 – Visit Your GP
Your GP or treating medical practitioner will assess your injury and, if appropriate, issue a Work Capacity Certificate and discuss suitable treatment options.
Acupuncture may be recommended as part of your recovery plan where clinically appropriate.
📄 Step 3 – Lodge Your Claim
Submit your workers’ compensation claim to WorkCover Queensland or your employer’s self-insurer.
Your claim will then be assessed by the insurer.
✅ Step 4 – Claim Accepted
Once your claim has been accepted, your insurer or case manager will confirm your approved treatment plan and coordinate your ongoing care.
🌿 Step 5 – Acupuncture Approved
Before commencing treatment, please ensure acupuncture has been approved or recommended as part of your WorkCover treatment plan.
If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Please Note: WorkCover-funded acupuncture is available only after your claim has been accepted and acupuncture has been approved as part of your treatment plan.
📅 Step 6 – Book Your Appointment
Once your claim has been accepted and acupuncture has been approved, contact HealthPro Wellness to arrange your first appointment.
Please have your WorkCover claim number available when booking.
💙 Step 7 – Begin Your Recovery
Your initial consultation includes a comprehensive assessment and personalised acupuncture treatment. We work closely with your treating practitioner and WorkCover requirements to support your recovery and safe return to work.
